High school years pass by in a flash. It is never too early to start preparing for college. As College admission is becoming fiercely competitive, it is imperative that we strive for and establish the "Perfect Path."

Individuality is increasingly a word that is being bandied about frivolously. Individuality cannot mean complacency and resignation to the acceptance of mediocrity. It requires adults coming together to set up students in institutions that are completely focused on providing a flexible, strong core and advanced curriculum. Students must be given the ability to follow a directed study track and/or an independent study plan, so that they do not waste the four years of high school by following unnecessary, time-consuming, generalized programs. A student does not have to compromise personal advancement to become an individual, unique entity in our society. Our goal at Trent InternationalE is to nurture each student to become an integral, individual member of society, never compromising academic and personal excellence. To attain such a goal, Trent InternationalE High School is excited to provide directed study, and independent study projects tailor-made to each student's interest in a future career path. The main focus will be primarily on the subjects truly needed for further education and admission into top universities.

I define "the Perfect Path" as the high school student taking certain steps to be prepared for college.

            1.         Make a list of the student’s strength and weaknesses.

            2.         Take as many advance placement courses as possible.

            3.         Determine and focus on what you think your career path may be in college.

            4.         Get involved in Community Service

            5.         Research. Research. Research. Look into many different colleges.

            6.         Contact the school you are interested in and set up tours and appointments with the

                        counselors.

            7.         Be aware of all the test dates.

Be Prepared, Be Educated, Be Ahead of the game!
