Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to 1^st grade! I want to extend to you and your child my warmest welcome into our classroom. My name is Ms. Wessels and I will be your child’s 1^st grade teacher for the 2011-2012 school year.

It is my goal that your child’s 1^st grade experience will be filled with personal growth as both a learner and a thinker. I am looking forward to beginning this adventure together!

This is my first year with Trent InternationalE School and I am very excited about working in such a unique, positive environment. I recently graduated from the University of Houston where I received my Bachelor of Science in Educational Psychology as well as my Early Childhood – 6^th grade teaching certification. In my free time I enjoy reading, playing with my dog, and running.

I believe children learn best when they are in a safe, caring and respectful environment.

Creating a sense of classroom community ensures that each student will have respect for others’ opinions as well as a feeling of belonging and responsibility for their actions. Everything I do in my classroom will be to support your child and help them fulfill their potential.
