The Faculty and Administration of Trent InternationalE School consider it a privilege to have your child with us. We hope that everyone has enjoyed their summer. At this time, we would like to share relevant information with you to help kick off the upcoming school year with as little stress and confusion as possible.

We are going green! So please check your email regularly. This will be our primary method of communication.

REGISTRATION

Registration is ongoing and for those who have not yet registered please do so as soon as possible.

We will be sending you forms over the next few weeks so please check your email.

SCHOOL FEES

August tuition (full month tuition) was due August 1st. To avoid a late fee, you may pay by a post dated check. To pay by credit card, please contact the school directly.

SUPPLIES

All supplies must be clearly marked with the student’s name.

Students in Pre-K and Kindergarten classes must provide a change of clothing (school uniform), socks, underwear, and a towel that is to remain in the school. Please put these items in a labeled Ziploc bag with the student’s name clearly marked with a permanent marker. We ask that you check your child’s backpack regularly to replace these items as they are used.

All supplies must be brought to school on Monday 15, 2011 for Open House.

STUDENT FILES

All student files must be completed and turned in the first day of school. If immunization records and student files are not complete, the student will not be allowed to start/attend school. CARPOOL TAGS MUST BE CLEARLY VISIBLE.

Important Carpool Rules:

Please look at the back of your carpool tag to understand how the traffic flows during carpool.

DO NOT block Cordes Dr. at any time.

DO NOT enter against the flow of traffic.

DO NOT cut through the line.

DO NOT pass cars that are waiting.

Students may be dropped off at carpool no earlier than 7:45 A.M. for the first carpool. Students who are dropped off earlier will incur additional charges if they are not signed up in our before and aftercare programs. However if you must drop them off earlier, please contact the front office and you will be charged the drop off rate.

If your child is supposed to leave at 2:00 and they have a sibling in another grade that does not leave until 3:00, they may go to extended day until 3:00 without charge.

During rainy weather, the carpool lane shifts closer to the curb outside of the school. Cars need to follow the path in order to minimize the distance the children walk to get into the cars.

WE ARE REQUIRED BY STATE LAW TO BUCKLE OUR STUDENTS AT ALL TIMES.

IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS

A copy of required immunization records must be signed by a family physician and submitted to the school by August 16, 2010.

DROP OFF and PICK-UP POLICY

PARENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO STOP AT THEIR CHILD’S CLASSROOM IN THE MORNING.

Attendants will be present to receive students from 7:30 am - 7:45 am. Please wait for the attendant to open the car door for your child/children.

Students arriving at 8:00 am must be walked into school by the parent and they must sign in.

Upper school students must sign in at the front office.

Students arriving before 7:30 am must be taken to the extended day program by the parent. Students arriving after 7:50 am will be considered tardy and parents must walk them into the school office to sign them in. Students must pick up a tardy slip from the office before entering class. Please keep in mind that 4 tardies equal one day's absence. Please do not drop off your children without the presence of a carpool attendant. Parents must park and come inside if carpool is not in progress.

PARENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO WALK THEIR CHILD TO CLASSROOMS AFTER THE SECOND DAY OF SCHOOL – AUGUST 17th.

EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM

The Extended Day Program is open from 7:00 am – 7:45 am and from school dismissal until 6:00 pm. Please see school calendar for holidays and closings. If your child is in extended care, you must walk your child into the school and sign them in or out of the program at the front office. (Parents are responsible for providing snacks. Please do not send food that needs to be heated.)

Drop-ins are welcome in the extended day program. Parents must walk the student into the school. Please refer to the payment schedule for the extended day program and drop in fees. Payment for drop-ins is due at the time your child is brought to the program in the morning or picked up in the afternoon.

Students who are not picked up at school dismissal times will be integrated into the extended day program. Drop-in rates ($15.00/hour -non prorated) will apply. If you anticipate using our drop-in extended day program more than a few days a month, you may want to consider our monthly package which will give you the flexibility and is much more cost effective.

The Extended Day Program ends at 6:00 pm each day. Students not enrolled in after school programs must be picked up at their designated carpool times. Failure to do so will result in an additional charge of $15.00 per hour until 6:00 pm and $25 thereafter.

Students enrolled in after school programs must be picked up at their designated times. Failure to do so will result in an additional fee of $25.00/day.

The safety of your child is and will always be our primary concern. To that end we make every effort to ensure your child is safe until you are able to pick them up. Only those individuals authorized by you will be allowed to pick up your child.

APPOINTMENTS

If your child has an appointment outside the school during school hours, the following procedure must be followed.

  1. A written request must be submitted the day before or the morning of, before the start of class.
  2. Students must be signed out when picked up and signed in upon return. The sign-in/sign-out book will be in the front office. If the appointment is with a doctor, please present a note from the doctor.

Parents are allowed to join their children for lunch or take them out during the lunch period only once a month. However the student must return to school promptly. Failure to do so will result in the student being marked tardy for that day. Please stop at the front office to sign yourself in and pick up a name tag.

LUNCH PROGRAM

Menus and forms for September lunches will be sent in the yellow Wednesday folder and emailed to you. All forms must be filled out completely. We will be unable to call you to complete incorrect orders. Incorrect or late orders will result in your child not being able to purchase lunch for the month. Lunch order forms must be turned in by the due date with no exceptions.

Please remember to provide lunch for your child/children for the month of August because the lunch Program does not start until September.

Additionally, please remember to provide adequate snacks for your child everyday. Please check to see that the snacks are fresh and have not expired. We discourage snacks or drinks with high sugar content. Please send a bottle of water with your child every day. Please do not send food that needs to be heated or refrigerated. Do not send bottles or cans that can be dangerous to open.
